or some other even more witty introduction. Advent is here, it time to stop complaining that there are christmas adverts in shops or on telly and open the calenders:

• 24 Ways is an Advent calendar for web designers and contains front end dev stuff.
• Perl Advent is all about Perl. It's been going strong since 2000.
• Performance Calendar is for web performance with a focus on frontend technologies.
• UXmas - UX is for life not just christmas.
• SysAdvent - Even sysadmins get a calender, that they can share with those who have to act like one now and again.
• Web advent are taking the year off, but their content is still available from previous years and they might return in 2014.
